Vile Torment is:
Bob - Vocals
Mark - Guitars
Scott - Bass
Craig - Drums
Vile Torment is a brutal heavy metal band from the south suburbs of Chicago. The
early days of Vile Torment began when two friends met for the first time on an
old job at the local Jewel. Mark and Scott both really liked music and The
earliest form of Vile Torment was formed over a Smashing Pumpkins Concert of all
things. In the following years Scott, Mark and his brother Craig began learning
how to play and began to write their early songs. The trio met a number of
different singers before finally finding what they were looking for right there
at home. Mark's other brother Bob took over singing duties and The Asylum was
born. The Asylum recorded a demo together and received some success in the
ranks of MP3.com, but the band as a whole wasn't satisfied. The 4 went back to
the drawing board and decided to rethink everything. The band as a whole was
listening to much heavier music now coming in the form of Cannibal Corpse,
Deicide, and Hypocrisy. The Asylum returned with some much heavier material
with their new influences changing their entire style of music. The name The
Asylum no longer fit the style of music or them as a whole and eventually with
some thought, Vile Torment was born. In late 2002 Vile Torment began recording
this new material and produced a killer demo as well as a blistering 12 song
self produced cd recorded in the vile torment garage. Since then Vile Torment
has received positive reviews from other bands, Venues around Chicago, and major
record labels Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade. Check us out when we come to your
area.
